Microsoft today announced the opening of a new datacenter region in Qatar as the first hyperscale cloud provider to offer enterprise-grade services in the nation. This announcement represents a significant milestone for Microsoft. The brand-new, top-notch datacenters are already operational and ready for use, with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 readily available.
Qatar's increasing demand for high-speed computing and quick, dependable access to Microsoft services is the reason for the ongoing investment. The opening of the Data Center today is regarded as a significant step in making the State of Qatar a cutting-edge and innovative digital hub in the Middle East and the rest of the world, according to Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology. Developing future-proof skills to increase employability
The National Skilling Program was introduced earlier this year by Microsoft in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), to upskill over 50,000 workers in Qatar over the following four years. Over 14,000 people have benefited from the initiative thus far.
In conjunction with top universities including MIT xPro, the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD), and HEC Paris, Microsoft has also built a first-of-its-kind Digital Center of Excellence to assist close the skills gap within the IT community and speed up digital transformation.
